The construction project of Kekedala Military Reclamation Museum involves a total investment of 117 million RMB and a total construction area of approximately 15,000 square meters, classified as a history museum. As an important component of public service venue construction of the division and city, the museum is a key initiative to implement the Cultural Prosperity Project for Xinjiang.
The design concepts include Rock and Ark.Rock: Firm as a rock. Remain true to our mission and forge ahead through arduous undertakings. It embodies the indomitable and persevering spirit of the XPCC. Steadfast as a rock, the XPCC undertakes border defense missions. The Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps serves as a solid guarantee for border stability and safeguards peace in frontier regions.Ark: An ark of artistic hope and cultural communication. The art gallery resembles an ark sailing across the vast land of Xinjiang, spreading the spark of art to people of the XPCC.
GRC materials are adopted for the themed exterior walls of the Military Reclamation Museum. Each panel measures 6000mm × 900mm, installed via back-bolt dry-hanging system. The brick-red panels are arranged horizontally and feature rugged textured surfaces, echoing the red theme of dedication, hardship and perseverance embodied in the military reclamation history. GRC enables controllable color and texture, powerful formability, large-scale prefabricated production and short construction cycles.
Yellow sandstone is applied to the plaza and the lower volume of the museum, resonating with the surrounding mountain landscapes. The architecture appears to rise naturally from the land, symbolizing the military reclamation culture of the XPCC.
